Edyta Zydorek, Esq. is the founder of Zydorek Law Office, LLC. Born in Poland, Ms. Zydorek has left her home country in 1999 and after studying in Germany and The Netherlands she has made her home in Cleveland, Ohio.
Edyta received her law degree cum laude from The Catholic University of Lublin School of Law in Lublin, Poland as well as Master of Law degree (LL.M) from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland, Ohio in 2004 where she concentrated on international business law. Ms. Zydorek has also attended several post-graduate programs in international business law, economics and politics, including The Konrad Adenauer Institute in Lublin, Poland, The Hochschule Bremen in Bremen, Germany and The University of Windesheim, in Zwolle, The Netherlands.
Before founding Zydorek Law Office, LLC, Ms. Zydorek worked for several Cleveland-based law firms as well as a national real estate developer. She has also worked for an e-learning venture of Ernst & Young LL.P, where she provided consulting services to multinational corporate clients on business and legal aspects of the implementation of global learning solutions. In addition to advising American companies, Ms. Zydorek worked at the company’s European headquarters in Amsterdam, The Netherlands where she advised corporate clients on matters of training, cross-cultural management, and legal licensing compliance in France, Germany, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom.
Ms. Zydorek has lived and worked in several foreign countries, including The Netherlands, Germany, India, and most recently China where she served as a Foreign Legal Consultant to a Ningbo-based law firm of Flower & May. Being the first American attorney to ever work for a Chinese law firm in Zhejiang Province, Ms. Zydorek has been officially recognized by the Ningbo Bar Association and Ningbo Judicial Commission. Upon her first visit to Ningbo in 2006, she gave a presentation to members of the Ningbo Lawyers Association, entitled U.S. - China Cross-Border Legal Considerations, on topics including real estate investment, business formation, NAFTA, intellectual property protection, strategic alliances, anti dumping duties, and immigration and ever since she is a frequent speaker at the seminars organized by the International Law Committee of the Ningbo Bar Association and the Ningbo Lawyers Association. In her capacity as a Foreign Legal Consultant, Ms. Zydorek has advised several international companies, including American, Dutch, German, Spanish, El Salvadorian and Australian companies on their legal issues related to their business operations in China. Together with Chinese attorneys, she successfully co-counseled international companies on all aspects of Chinese law, including Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), joint ventures, employment and corporate law. In addition, Ms. Zydorek counseled Chinese clients on doing business as well as investing in the United States and represented Chinese companies in their disputes in the United States. Ms. Zydorek is a member and official legal advisor of the Ningbo Chamber of International Commerce - Foreign Expert Committee.
Edyta is licensed to practice law in Ohio and is a member of several civic organizations including, Ohio State Bar Association and Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association, Cleveland Council on World Affairs, Women in International Trade and Ohio Chapter of the Talent – Ideas – Entrepreneurship ("TIE") Organization.
Ms. Zydorek has written, edited and translated articles on law, technology, travel and lifestyle, in the United States, Poland and China, including her recent publications in China expatriate business magazine, "Hello Ningbo" and law-related columns in a Sunday edition of "Ningbo Weekly Southeast Business" newspaper.
Edyta is fluent in Polish and speaks German and Russian. She has basic command of Mandarin Chinese.
